Main music Instruments in Bachata

The very first thing we notice when we listen to Dominican Bachata is the peculiar way in which the guitar plays which gives a sharp sense of rhythm.
However the core of the rhythm lies in two percussion instruments:the guiro and the bongo. The rhythm they play is very rich, full of syncopations, decorations and variations. Unlike in Salsa in which percussion instruments usually follow determined patterns, in Bachata most variations are left to the percussion. The guitarbass plays also an important role in the Bachata Music.
